We were invited by adidas to hold a party at the adidas Underground space in Shoreditch. Our mission – to host an evening of creativity and F.U.N! It was… from the moment you entered the secret squirrel destination (hint: door was next to the world’s largest poster of Bradley Wiggins) to staggering out at closing time, head throbbing from the promised feast of mind-expanding audiovisuals and some super loud brain rinsing beats. We saw visuals from Joost Vandebrug – an atmosphere laden special film screening from this talented Dutch photographer and film maker and Mark James screened This Dull Ache, which showed that even a black bin liner can have soul! Also a live audiovisual set from Night Customer (Joel Martin & Gareth ‘Cherrystones’ Goddard), which was truly mind-blowing, with amazing archive footage from the Olympic games.Music was provided by Rocket Number 9 sharing their infectious mix of blues, reggae and English quirkiness, Kutmah gave us dancehall and ragga and Mr Wonderful (Femi Adeyemi) from NTS did exactly what you’d expect from someone with the moniker Mr Wonderful…
When we weren’t busy playing Paper-Stone-Scissors for food or gazing admiringly at past editorials from Volt Magazine, which were projected (looked even better wall size!) we drank delicious rum-based cocktails, pondered how to get our mitts on the pair of adiZero Prime knits in titillating red and caught up with all our lovely contributors. Thanks to all who came out!
