Total Recall is one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time, adapted from Philip K. Dick’s We Can Remember It for You Wholesale and directed by Paul (Robocop, Basic Instinct, Starship Troopers) Verhoeven.
Arnold Schwarzenegger features as the initially mild-mannered protagonist, Douglas Quaid, who decides he needs a vacation to Mars until his wife convinces him to just have a memory of the vacation implanted. Soon the lines between reality and memory are blurred and Quaid has to fight his way to the answers he needs. If you haven’t already seen this it should be at the top of your list of films to watch, and if you have seen it, the Total Recall Blu–Ray Triple Play Release is any filmbuff’s dream.
Re-mastered using the original negative there’s a newfound crispness to every shot, bringing the film’s award-winning special effects to light. This isn’t just a cash-in like a lot of re-releases nowadays, the remastering is approved by Paul Verhoeven and includes some juicy extras for those who like to dig behind the scenes. There is full audio commentary from Verhoeven and Schwarzenegger, a brand new interview with Verhoeven, and a special effects featurette.
This is a special piece of cinema history that anyone should feel lucky to own, it take pride of place on your shelf compared to all the other re-releases that promised so much only to deliver an interview with the sound guy and a 30 year-old interview with the star…
Studiocanal know what the fans want, and offer it in abundance.
The Special Edition Triple Play release of the classic multi-award winning TOTAL RECALL, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, is available to own from 16th July.
To celebrate the release, the film will screen in selected cinemas nationwide for one night only on 10th July, to allow fans the opportunity for another big screen outing of this much loved, retro classic.
