Yesterday a very modest email invited me to look at Sunil Pawar’s work, apologizing for taking up my time. I really liked the design and seeing the images of the design process. When I checked out who Sunil Pawar was, it turned out he’d worked with some amazing people. A very talented artist, yet so humble.

Sunil Pawar is an editorial and advertising illustrator/creative and exhibiting artist in his own right. In his time he has worked with a very diverse bunch of people and companies, such as Harvey Nichols, Comme des Garcons, Horace Andy, The Guardian and legendary Japanese fashion designer Junya Watanabe (whom he has collaborated with on three mini capsule ranges as a featured artist). Very cool.

Inspired by the concept of traditional potteries in the North of England in the 1800’s who created distinctive tailormade patterns and designs exclusively for their wares, Pawar has designed a set of signature patterns equally exclusively for the award winning tea company We are Tea. Mimicking the S/S and A/W seasons in fashion, every six months a limited edition mug will be produced featuring a different design. Each mug is made from bone china and numbered, limited to 300 pieces only. The first design is out now!

We Are Tea is a London based, independent, multi-award winning tea business attempting to do things a little differently. Their tea is stocked in some of the most prestigious retailers in the world including Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Dean & Deluca.
