For the past three summers Sanderson Sessions has played host to some of the UK’s most innovative and exciting new bands. Luckily this summer is no exception. The 27th June saw the rather dreamy Sanderson Courtyard playing host to AlunaGeorge, vocalist Aluna Francis and producer George Reid, who hail from London and produce electronic tracks laced with a little R&B, a pinch of Pop, and lashings of effortless cool. The newest single by the group, entitled You Know You Like It, is a sweetly sick bass-ridden track that perfectly showcases Francis’ accent-tinged, subtly beautiful vocals. Their EP has already received high praises from Dazed & Confused magazine, NME and Wonderland.
Previous sessions have played host to such luminaries as Violet (with Pixie Geldof), The Shoestrung, Glasser and Yasmin and have been attended by some rather special guests – you might bump into Sir Bob Geldof, Nick Grimshaw, Ellie Goulding, Edie Campbell, Jamie Winstone, Patrick Wolf, The xx, Louise Gray, The Big Pink, Mary Chateris, Alison Mosshart, Tim Noble and Sue Webster.
Lush outdoor settings in London are such a treat in summer and as the Sanderson is renowned for its private Courtyard and the cut-above-the-rest eclectic cocktail offerings at Long Bar, it is the perfect setting to enjoy edited musical offerings for those of you that are just a little too busy for a full-on summer festival.
