You look at Volt Café; you’ve bought Volt Magazine and touched the pages; here’s your chance to hear Volt too! Yes, put this one in your diary pronto: the next Printout event by Stack Magazines at The Book Club will feature Volt Magazine’s awe-inspiring Anne van den Boogert and her friend Hannah Cheney on the decks, delivering 2 hours of HIGH VOLTAGE musical excitement that guarantees to make all you print lovers bust a move. Anne is our resident film maker and all-around creative livewire – if she can’t make you get down’n’dirty you’re probably officially dead. Hannah Cheney is also a film maker and intern for DarkRoom. There’s also a rumour going that free copies of the mag will be wantonly given away on the night while supplies last…
Not only that but to highlight the fact that Printout, the clubnight for all us magazine lovers, is one year old, Stack Magazines have decided that the best way to celebrate its young life is to pay their respects to the dead. They’ll be doing this with a panel of publishing experts such as Patrick Burgoyne (Creative Review), Simon Esterson (Eye) and Steven Gregor (Gym Class Magazine) sharing memories of their favourite ‘dead’ magazines and presenting magazines from the past.
Doors open at 6.30pm and the speakers will begin the remembrance at 7.00pm.
