Free Range, the UK’s largest Graduate Art, Design and Fashion Show returns to the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane for its annual seven-week showcase of emerging art and design talent. Renowned as the principal supporter of new creatives, the exhibition has grown from year to year, with 2013 promising to be the biggest yet, taking up all three floors of the Truman Brewery’s F Block. More than a hundred courses and over 3000 students will take part in a series of exhibitions across five disciplines: fashion & textiles; design; interior design & architecture; photography & media; contemporary & fine art.
If you fear you’ll be overwhelmed by all this information remember that not only is there an on-site networking space and café in the Loading Bay on Dray Walk which is an informal space for students, media and industry to hang out together, Free Range also has an on-going portfolio website where the work of both participating and former exhibitors can be perused at your leisure. And as it’s on over the next seven weeks, it makes sense to do it over several visits rather than try to cram all this into one.
More than 100,000 visitors attended the exhibitions in 2012, all of which are free and open to the public with the exception of the catwalk shows which are by invitation only.
