Dean Sidaway is one of the new breed of Renaissance men and women, individuals who seamlessly manage to simultaneously do many tricky things beautifully rather than just the one career. In Dean’s case, he creates, acts as a consultant for a variety of über-fashion brands, works as a fashion stylist           and teaches at Central Saint Martin’s. Not content with adding decoration to fashionable shoulders everywhere, his breakthrough debut A/W10 collection last season certainly caused a stir. Inspired by the frozen plains of Scandinavia, these collars are made from a mixture of ruffled organdie, organic yarns, chain, found antiquities, Jesmonite coating and vintage lace rags. Uncompromising, sometimes constricting yet also caressing, these pieces wrap and surround the neck and chest to protect and preserve this most fragile piece of the anatomy.
