Few would dispute the creative genius behind Christian Lacroix’s designs. Although sadly since going into administration in 2009 he can no longer design under the name Christian Lacroix, he left a legacy of amazing inspiration behind during his 22 year long reign. Since its inception in 1987, the House of Christian Lacroix electrified the fashion world with its collections inspired by both Gypsy and Provençal traditions and the flamboyant Haute Couture scene in Paris and London during the 1960’s. The designer was sadly forced to abandon his clothing lines as part of a restructuring plan that saw the licensing out of the Lacroix name for the sale of perfume and accessories.

However, there is a new line of Christian Lacroix eyewear out manufactured by Mondottica. Drawing inspiration from the Lacroix universe, the Christian Lacroix Eyewear Collection clearly reflects the familiar Lacroix design details that have contributed to its iconic status. The collection features 18 optical and 22 sunglasses styles around three main themes: Le Chic Barbare, Les Icônes and Notre Signature.

Mondottica began working with Mr. Lacroix and the Christian Lacroix team more than one year ago, and it has been an inspirational journey to develop an eyewear collection that captures the spirit of Christian Lacroix. Mondottica has built a global reputation for producing beautiful eyewear collections in collaboration with highly respected brands including  Hackett London, Lulu Guinness and Anna Sui.
